everythig i searched that involved ticking seemed to be constant, or alteast have a pattern. lately, ive been expirencing a very erratic ticking. i cant make it tick. it tick for no reason. it might tick like crazy for 10min, then not do it for another hour. i would trace it, but i cant make it tick at idle. it does it with the heater on/off, ac on/off, or everything turned off. it does seems to tick more while im slowing down instead of speeding up or ruising. its very faint and i can only hear it with the radio off. i did have a code come up saing tha the a/c cluth is low, wat does that mean?

specs: 2003 CC SB 2wd, 305/555, 6 spd, 130k, BDPP, AFE filter, everything else is bone stock.

 

The ticking you are hearing is most likely your injectors. Try running some diesel injector cleaner added to your fuel and see if that helps.

There is also a ticking issue that involves a missing or broken injector line clamp. I just can't remember what year model it was on.

On edit, I did a little quick searching and found there was an issue reported on some 03-04.5 trucks involving the #6 injector line. I used the following keywords in the search. Remember to select posts, not threads. Hope it helps.
