Throttle Sticking
Throttle Sticking
Hi, on my 2006 2500 4x4, auto, 150k miles, I have found in other posts that throttle sticking while driving can be the converter, etc. I just cranked my truck up for first time in a month and gave it some throttle while in park and it came down slowly, sat at a high for a couple seconds and then came down gradually and in steps. No idea if it will do it while driving, I cannot drive. I just had surgery and in no shape to go on the hunt for a cure without some help up front. Thanks for any help.

It would be interesting to manipulate the accelerator while watching throttle position reading on a scanner.
I’d also read somewhere that excessive fuel injector return flow can cause the engine to kind of hang when coming off the accelerator. Apparently under load the ECM has to keep stepping up the EC3’s output more than normal to achieve the desired rail pressure, but then when you come off the throttle rail pressure ends up higher than commanded until the ECM and pump react.
