Throttle pos sensor location
Throttle pos sensor location
Ok...It's been a long time since I've been on here and caught up on my diesel engine education...I have been searching for a couple hours now and haven't found the posts I'm looking for so I'll have to waste yall's time. My 04/555 has had an intermittent dead pedal/or brief uncontrolled acceleration now for quite a while but I haven't been driving it much so I've left it alone but its getting worse. I'm almost positive its the TPS from the codes I checked eons ago. Plus I have changed injectors, and the rail pressure sensor early on and neither fixed it.
What I'm looking for is location on mine to order a new one since they are listed on some sites as the "under the battery" and "engine mounted" and I have no idea what I'm actually looking for
Went to the dealership (the last one in Tx on I-35 before okieland) and they wanted nearly $600 dollars for it so I not so kindly told them I wouldn't bend over and take that.
Thanks and again sorry to bring up an old subject I ought to know

Here is a picture of the engine mounted TPS (called APPS in Cummins terminology).
Picture borrowed from the Glacier Diesel website.

You can follow the cables from the accelerator pedal thru the firewall to the APPS.
