Question Throttle Control

I noticed that on the 04 automatic you can manually control the idle engine rpm, I have a 03 6spd and need to know the best way to idle up to around 1000-1100rpm for extended idling, anyone?

a stick is the answer. Why do you want to idle? If it is cold enough, the truck will up the idle depending on the sensors. If it is for warm up you really are better letting it idle just a little bit and then driving gently as a small load will warm it up quicker and not build up so much carbon.

re-throttle

Idling at times all night long when out of state and on rd, when it is below 10 degrees it automatically idles up to 1000, or when first starting, but during the night it is sitting at low idle burning more diesel than neccesary, at times is is not shut off for 3 days, so if there was a way to idle it up the diesel would burn more effeciently and less build up and seepage into the crank would occur
