I found a 2005 2500 4x4 quad cab auto with with 55k miles on it, its got leather and all the other power options, they are asking 19k. I wonder if its worth that. Anything i should know about a 2005, do they have any gremlins?

 

Some early 2005's had plastic endtanks/caps on the intercooler's. They are sealed with a rubber gasket that won't hold much boost. That should be the only year specific issue. The lift pump went into the tank in 2005, and most seem to work fine on stock trucks.

ok, so do these truck have a certain mileage where stuff like the trans and injection pump take a crap? would a 04 with 104k on it be worth 16k?

 

The 2005 sounds like a real good deal to me. Low mileage is a plus, what does it book for?

is it an 04 or an 04.5...makes a difference with HP.

 

found out the 05 was wrecked before, plus the owner gives me the creeps

the extra 20hp on the 04s dont matter much, but did the 04s have as much trans problems as the 98-02s?
