Is there a "too much idle code"?

Had my truck in yesterday for lots of white smoke and rough idle on start up, Dealer told me the code that came up was "too much idle time". Is there such a code? My average speed on the truck is 40.7, up from about 32 when I got it at 12000 miles, it now has 76000 miles. I DON'T idle my truck at all. Even in -30* I plug it in, idle it for 2-3 minutes, then take it easy until it heats up. 99% of my miles are highway.

Here's the link to my problem. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/d...0-t248354.html

Thanks for any input.

Yes, you can read the total accumulated hours. See this link. I thought that their 'limit' was 32 or 35 mph average. If you are at 40mph, they should have no issue.

However, the dealer is trying to get out of a warranty claim. You may want to try another dealer.

White smoke is either coolant, vaporizing to steam, or more likely, incompletely burnt diesel fuel due to an injector leaking by.

My service guy told me that, according the service field rep, anything under 1500 rpm is considered idle time. pcm

AFAIK, thats total BS. Make them document that code and the description from their trouble shooting guide then sign off on it. I think he's pulling it out of thin air.

The ECU tracks time under 1500 rpm's, but, the miles divided by hours is what Cummins uses to determine severe duty. Make them document everything and sign it if they are going to be difficult.
