Recently on my 2005 the tc has been unlocking when I mash the pedal to get around someone. I drive in tow haul all the time. A few posts I've read suggest tc replacement. I have a new tc for a 2001 model. I wonder if it will work on my 05? Any input is appreciated.

 

You can't use a 47re TC on a 48re trans.

 

That was normal with my stock transmission. Even if I was going 70 and floored it it would unlock and go to 3rd. I'd have to ease into it to keep it locked and then go full throttle.

Now that I have a new converter and valve body it doesn't do that. Just posted my experience with having a new DPC super single converter, valve body, and rebuild in another post.

 

You'll have to get a transmission controller or make a lock up switch if you want it to stay locked. It's going to jump down a gear if you stand on it.
