Tail Pipe is Rusting

Banged up my exhaust pipe tip a little off-roading. Nothing too bad, straightened it out w/ channel locks & a hammer. Now it's rusting! Will it rust through? How big of a section of pipe do I need to replace?

It will probably rust through....in a few year, I would imagine.

You basically broke through the aluminized coating.

I would only replace the affected section. Or, give it a year or 2 and see how the corrosion is affecting the rest of the exhaust system. Then that will justify a new after market stainless system.
