Synthetic to Conventional?
I appreciate all of you guys chipping in. I started this thread to see if switching from a synthetic oil to a regular oil would be ok. I got my answer and im content with that.
No need to get snappy about it buddy.
I don't see it as a waste of my time. With the time that get's spent on here I could have my oil and filter changed before I even log off here.
You realy think the dealer is going to hike up their prices because they change oil on a 3k mile scheduled basis, they set that mark and that's what i'll go by. I'd be more worried about the guys hiking up prices because they are trying to get by with warranty work that they caused(i.e. blowing head gaskets, running through trannys ect from to much power).
Im realy not seeing how having the oil changed on a 3k mile basis is going to give me any issues?
why not...because it's a waste of your time
why not...because now the dealer will eventually raise it's prices b'c their profits go down
why not..because it's not necessary and it's a waste of resources
just because you can isn't reason enough.
I've been told by many mechanics the less you're in you're truck fiddling and changing things the better. your oil is fine after 3,000 miles and for me, the less my truck is at the dealer, the better.
