I think swapping is a good idea too! The auto trucks have the clutch pedal hanger bracket already in them. The steering column with air bag might be an interesting challenge. And the cup holder setup in the auto truck won't work either, I think. Are your interiors the same color? What about the computer? Do you two have the same wheelbase to allow for driveline swap? Hmmm, could be interesting.

His trk is a swb quad cab, mines a lwb sngl cab trks are the exact same length however i believe that the manuals are longer but the driveshafts we could also swap and i was kinda thinkin of just puttin a ratchet shifter in the side opening by my cupholders ive seen it done and its really clean lookin. Wiring harnesses for the transmission should aso be able to be swaped out also, crossmembers and everythin.

Yes it can be done. Among other things, the ECM and the main wiring harness is different from the manual to auto trucks. But if you can find an auto truck wanting to swap over to a 6 speed, pretty straight forward actually. I have a parts list at my shop for the hard parts that are needed in the swap.

I'll probably be doint this one day as well if my joints start hurting any more. Bad knees, bad shoulders. Rowing a 6speed just isn't much fun somedays.

By the time I take all the goodies off my truck. I could have swapped steering collums, dash, wiriing harness, ECMs and driveshafts from another vehicle.

I'm sure it can be done, but by the time you are done, you probably would have spent more than if you traded the truck in & got one w/ an auto in it.

The truck and i have history i know that sounds gay but thats just how it is. So it would be a lose to trade it in especially the time it would take to take all my upgraded goodies off of it.
