straight side to dually?
straight side to dually?
I was thinkin bout turning my 2006 3500 into a dually. Correct me if i am wrong but couldnt i just find a wrecked 06 or any year 3rd generation dually and pull the rims tires and adapters off it and it would all bolt right up? I see the companys that make adapters but i thought a junk yard might be cheaper. It already has a flat bed so i could just modify that for the added tire in the rear. I also wanna run 35x12.50 so what is the minnumum sized spacer i would need? and if i put a spacer in the rear would i have to add one on the fronts to have the correct alignment? Thanks
Front adapters, rims/tires, and rear axle are needed to conver your srw to a drw. You already have the bed width figured out to cover the added wheel/tire per side.
Or, use front adapters/rims/tires and 2" spacers on the rear srw axle so the dually wheels will bolt up. The drw axle is 2"s wider ea side as compared to the srw axle.
You will need a 2" spacer between the rear dually wheels to run 35's.
