Stock and happy!!!!

Well, it's a long story many of you know about but I am totally stock again right down to the airbox and factory torque tube. With everything off the truck except for the Rokktech my mileage was exactly the same as it was with all the stuff on it (Airaid,HTB2 turbo,Predator,Boost fooler). I only still had the Rokktech on it because I forgot about it. After pulling the Rokktech off I have noticed no difference in power but I just checked my mileage and after 200 miles my mileage has dropped a full 1 point. Unfortunately I dropped my flywheel on it and broke it so I can't put it back on... I guess I need another one....

It's been almost three weeks since I had any power adders on the truck and I am now used to stock power where it doesn't even bother me anymore and it actually feels strong again.....

After long deliberations and considerations of other vehicles I could drive I have also concluded, as many probably already knew, that there is really no better option for another vehicle for me that won't kill my daily mileage or make me feel like less of a man than I did driving my big CTD. I think I will be keeping this truck and I swear I will quit whining about my legs hurting from the shifting in traffic. This is a great truck and I'm not ready to take a beating on a trade or sale. So, I'll be Dodgezilla for a while longer although you can just call me Stockzilla. I may put the boost fooler and torque tube back on it though and get a better drop-in air filter. THAT'S IT!!!!!
Maybe a mild chip for a small boost but that's it, really.....

I halfway know the feelings you're having. If my clutch would have held I could at least have known what the Smarty is all about. So, I like you am riding stock and not minding it so bad. Calling Lary next week for the SB. I even changed the reasoning for when people ask me why I drive what I do. I got a personal tag that says MSNGCMPR but that wasn't enough. Now I say "so I don't die in a collision, I've tried".

Glad to hear your formal statement of commitment to your truck. EDIT: I take full credit for your decision.

Having said that, if you want to trade your torque tube for my Puck, game on! I may want to get rid of my Rokktech too.

Hey Dodgezilla.

These trucks are awesome without bigger turbos, twin turbos, or even an added box or programmer. Outside of the periphery stuff that helps them breathe a little better and a ME, they really do not need a whole lot done to them. I am at a much higher altitude than you, my fuel milage did increase with my small mods. I have a BNIB Smarty sitting here, been here for over a year, got it to adjust for my tire size/read codes if I threw any, and have yet to load it on to the truck to adjust for the tires. In fact, since my latest flash from the dealership unless I download some new software into it - it's totally useless at this point in time. I'm on dialup, too many glitches from old phone lines to download anything.

I have an old knee injury that haunts me from time to time, it is very painful now and then with all the shifting when I get in high traffic areas, but NOT enough to make me move to an auto tranny.

Glad you came to your senses.

CD

Dave, you had a little bit to do with it. Driving your truck made me miss that extra power though. Your trans shifts nice and firm but I just think a manual trans is the perfect match for these trucks. I think I'm gonna keep the torque tube but we may talk about that Puck sometime for $$$. I had no problems with the Puck I used to have except it made some high rail pressure when you were on it hard. I don't drive like that anymore so it's no big deal.
Shhh. Don't tell anyone though. I already said I'm staying stock....

It only occured to me ex post facto that I should have hit the T/H button for you. The shifts firm up quite a bit more with that on, as if the transmission personally comes into the cabin and kicks you in the face!

Anyhoo, that was nice to be able to compare a 6-speed to a built auto. Aside from sharing a body and engine, I think there's very little in common between the two in terms of the driving experience.

No I have not. I'm not saying that I won't someday but right now I'm just planning on doing nothing more to the truck powerwise. I am aware of the many other features of the Smarty though and for those things I may own one oneday.
Kind of funny saying that when my last post I'm telling HOV that I may buy his PowerPuck!!

You guys know me though. It's one big with me......

I think a set of 50HP tips might work out really well. Something to think about. It will run so much smoother and you wont even know they are in there aside from the extra power. One of the few mods with little to no negative side.
