Stock Boost number

I did a search and could not find anything? What does a stock 2005HD have for boost? 20, 30. This is my first Diesel so I am new to this. Thanks

Mine is an 04.5 which is the same as an 05 after it was reflashed. Mine will push about 34psi for a couple of seconds at wide open throttle and then settle down to about 28-30 until I let off. Hope that helps.

Thanks that is what I needed to know. I am buying a boost gauge and I did not know if a 35 was good or not cause it is in a 3 gauge kit thanks

My 04.5 600 stock also would do exactly the same as TexasCTD. Almost any performance upgrades will allow it to go higher. You need to get the 60psi guage to be able to see more accurate higher boost readings. My .02.

By the way, my numbers are with no EDGE EZ. That is just stock numbers. I really didn't notice any change with the Edge on it though.

I would definately go with a 60psi gauge.

What year do you have, my '03 did about 25 stock. the '04.5 and newer will go higher like the others have said. I would get a 60 psi gauge so if you do bomb it you won't have to replace the gauge.

Stock 04.5 600 boost = 34psi spike, 28-30 sustained.
Dr Performance 85hp pressure/boost box = 38-39psi spike, 33-34 sustained.
Standard Juice/Attitude 100hp setting = 39-40psi spike, 36-38 sustained.
Quad XZillaraider Race 130hp setting = 44psi spike, 42-43 sustained.
HOT Juice/Attitude 100hp setting = 39-41psi spike, 38psi sustained.

After the tc/trans upgrade I will know what the HOT Juice/Attitude 180hp setting does to boost.

After the twins hope the Head Gasket and the guage are up to the task.
