Steering stops?
Steering stops?
Where exactly are the steering stops on these trucks? I am looking to weld a small piece of metal to them to keep my 35's from rubbing on the lower control arms. Pics would be nice!
Thanks guys!

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

Look at the lower ball joints and a bit down and outboard. You will see one ahead and one at the rear. They are a rough part of the casting. Mine rubbed a bit and all I did was JB Weld a small piece of steel to each stop. That stopped the problem.
I wouldn't weld something to the steering knuckles! One, because it can and will weaken them, not to mention heat up the balljoint, and two because it will not be easy to remove if you want to. A better idea is to drill a small hole in the flat spot of the stop and thread it, and screw in a small bolt. Doesn't have to be long... a 1/4" of thread should do. Then grind the bolt head flat until it is just tall enough. I had thought of doing just this when I got my 315s and they rubber, but my 2" leveling kit has seemed to take care of most of the problem.
