Steering Gear box adjustment!

Steering Gear box adjustment!

Hi everyone,

1St Post always had a 1/2 ton but recently picked up a 1 ton 2008 6.7
im cleaning it up a little and one thing is the steering box has some play. went to adjust it but my adjustment screw is seriously seized.( yes i backed off the nut). im just considering replacing it now any ideas? anyone had this happen before?

This is not an adjustment you should ever do. It is a factory adjustment and if you have play, get a new steering box. Take it apart and you will know why. As a firm rule, never make an adjustment to compensate for wear......ever. Adjustments exist to compensate for manufacturing tolerances only.
