Steering box

Buddy of mine has a 06 4x4 steering box going bad dodge mechanic told him not to use a aftermarket box. Is this true? If not what is a good one?

aftermarket gear box do not double nut the sector gear adjuster. The adjuster screw was turned all the way in causing the gears to bind up. If you do not want any problems I suggest putting a second nut on adjuster screw to lock it from turning. The factory gear boxes have already started doing this
