Starting to smoke?

I recently returned from a long pull from Yellowstone. I started to notice some soot on my bumper and wonder if there is a problem. My wife even noticed a liittle smoke while towing my trailer. My rig is basically stock and so I am thinking there is something going on. Any ideas?

That's normal especially when towing. My truck sooted up the rear fender just driving around town when it was stock and brand new.

The engine is working more with the trailer. It's burning more fuel when you are pulling causing the soot. It's perfectly normal.

Perfectly normal.

You might find that it runs better now after making it work.

Yes that is normal... in fact, in another thread here, someone opined that the bumper is just the first generation of a diesel particulate filter. I gotta agree!!

That was me. And the re-gen cycle is a rag and windex.
