Starting Issue
Starting Issue
I have a 2003 RAM 6-Cyl. HO Turbo DSL that is having issues turning over. Last winter it seemed to have issues starting in the morning when it got down to 0c. I took it to the dealer and they couldn’t reproduce the problem, so they didn’t know what to tell me. Now it is having issues starting on a warm day. A few days ago I moved it, let it run a little bit, turned it off, tried starting it again a few hours later, and it wouldn’t start. Yesterday I took it to a different dealer, it wouldn’t start to go to the dealer so I got fed up and shot some WD40 into the air intake. It fired right up. It sat overnight at the dealership and this morning they said it didn’t have any issues starting. Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this or suggest a mechanic in Western Washington I can take it too? I’d appreciate it.
I think when I first posted this question last winter, someone suggested I take a look at my lift pump. Wouldn't a bad lift pump cause rough running and dieing after being started? My truck runs fine after it starts. It just burns my hide having my 85 6.9L Ford start better than my 03 Ram.
