source for GL5 gear oil

Does anyone have an on-line source for a good GL5 gear oil for the diff?

I've been putting this off and decided it's about time to change it. I ran out to 3 local stores and all they had was a Valvoline synth blend.

I was going to run something like AMSOil or Royal Purple based on rec's from this board. Now I find I can't get it easily around here... Thinking about being lazy and just buying a case on-line.

Help. Where? How much?

THANKS! (and I guess my gears will thank you too)

I buy GL5 Synthetic 75W-90 Mobil gear lubricant in quart bottles at either Pep Boys or at an Advance store. It runs about $7+ per quart. This is the lubricant that is specified for the outdrive of a diesel-powered boat I have and has to be changed once per year. I've seen this lubricant in other brands for as much as $12 per quart. Don't let anyone talk you into a synthetic blend because it lacks the extreme pressure properties. Don't know how much is needed to change out a differential.

I'm concerned that if I take it to the dealer or to a lube shop, they will top off the differential with a non-spec lubricant that won't do the job.

Try www.oiltown.com for royal purple gear lube. They have the best price I have seen.

Mobil 1 GL-5 75W-90 is probably the most readily available full synthetic gear lube. I know Autozone usually stocks it as well. Oil is no featherweight, so shipping costs can be high if you have to mail order the stuff.

Here's a link for Redline:
http://www.myoilshop.com/AutoPrds.html

Here's a link for Amsoil:
http://www.amsoil.com/

In my situation, its easier for me to order online and have it delivered to my door.

But any PepBoys carry Mobil1 Gear Lubes - nothing wrong with that either.

As far as markup's go, I can buy Redline online and have it delivered for a little less than my local source can sell it to me for - and due to their hours and not open on the weekends, they can't get my business.
