Gear Shift Noise
I have soft but noticable gear shifter noise in fifth gear. Mainly when the truck is ran for the first few miles. It is still there after but not very noticable. The dealer tech said it could be the syncronicers. Anyone else have the same noise.
Along with a rear axle whine my transmission whined in most of the gears as well with 4th being the loudest. Darned if it didn't disappear when they changed the ring and pinion in the rear end. The sound was telegraphing right up the drive line to the transmission. Quiet as a mouse now and I hope it stays that way.

I also have the whine in 4th gear, but didn't go away after R&P replaced. I had the service manager document it the last time it was in the shop for 70 mph vibe, just for future reference.

Casey, did you have anything other than whine in yours?

I’ve got an issue with a noise happening when I release the clutch, while stationary, after I put a little load on the trans…I noticed this at the local drive-thru the other day when I had moved forward, slipped her out of gear, THEN released the clutch…The noise is auditable with an associated thunking sound. My feeling is that it is simply the through-out bearing letting go from the fork (that is if this 5600 clutch works the same as an old NV clutch)…Or it has something to do with a dual-mass clutch or some such thing I don’t know anything about…Any collective ideas on this one?
Also, anyone else have any seepage issues around your bell-housings? I’m 99% sure I’ve got a rear-main seal leak…It drip’s once a week or so. Any ideas?

Shifter noise
The noise I'm talking about happens in fifth gear at between 40 to 50 mph. altouth it is still there at faster speeds only not as loud. I have had other 5 speeds that had bearings get routh and they sounded similar to this. After hearing thr r&p issue I'm not sure. Took it in for the noise but they say they don't hear it. Although they did document I had a issue at 13000 miles with trans noise.
