SoCal Smog test
Ok all you SoCal peeps. I just moved to Ventura County from Portland OR. I didn't need to have my truck tested in OR and now need to get my truck smogged for Cali.
I did a forum search and came up with ***'s in Simi Valley. My question is with the mods in my sig what will I need to do to get through. Will I need to put the stock intake back on? can I just but the Edge on stock or do I need to completely remove the box?
TIA
On another note any events or hotspots in the area worth checking out? I would like to get out and meet some locals.

Your air intake would have to have a CARB number/sticker to pass visual. Otherwise, put your stock box on. If your edge box is hidden, you could put it to stock.
I smogged last year with Smarty set to stock and my Quad pressure box turned off. My quadzilla is hidden under the dash though.

Your intake does not need the sticker because it is approved from the CARB website. http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...rmktdevice.php, have to scroll down to S&B. The Edge will have to be removed. The Attitude can be left in place just use it for gauges.

Thanks sdntive I found the listing. I guess I will have to pull the box and find a place to hide it.

How do you like that Carli set up?

you will need to have ECM updated (Recall K01) in order to pass smog, takes about one hour. that's if it wasn't done already. Check under hood for update label, or call dealership with vin and they can check if update was done.
The KO1 update earned me a new ECM courtesy of Dodge. Dropped it off,the tech reflashed it and the security light flashed upon starting it up. Tech reflashed it again and somehow the procedure killed it. Dodge sent a new one and everything's fine.
The dealer recommended that I drive it for 200 miles before smogging it. I had them smog it. It passed but looking at the paperwork, the vin # shows that my truck is an 07.5 auto. Good 'ol Cali.

Its so sad how the Government can tell you what you can and can't put on YOUR OWN truck. God forbid your truck smokes but yet these little battery powered cars put out more polluton than any other car on the road, due to the fact that you plug them into coal burning power plants to recharge the battery
Ok here is what I found out today. The S&B while exempt must have the exemption sticker in place, the Edge has to come out. I have an appointment at the dealership (Shavers) for the recall and the smog test next week. The Edge is in pending status but as of January 1 that doesn't get them exempted, no sticker no go.

Just a question for those who live in Cali, how can the police tell if you have had a smog test done? Do you have to pay for it or is it a tax? What's the fine for not having a smog test? Is every vic on the road (i.e. cars, trucks, bikes, semis, ect.) subject to a test?
I hate to be the one who has to ask these questions but I have no clue how it's done on the west cost.
I spent some time at Camp Pendenton and did notice i never really ever saw many diesel pickups.
