Slight changes to 03 engines
I just traded my 03 that I bought in March for another new 03 last week. Was out looking at the engine today and noticed a few changes.
My first truck was manufatured in Oct 02. The engine ID tag was on the throttle body and the throttle body was rounded on the front. The new truck was manufactured in July 03 and the throttle body is now square shaped and the ID tag is a sticker on the valve cover, drivers side. What does this mean? NOTHING, just worthless info.
Also, check your Auto trans cooling lines. Mine are touching and will eventually chaffe thru. I just cut some old heater hose and put it between them. These hoses are on the drivers side, under the throttle body. Two large hoses, can't miss em.
Check your AC lines as well. They may be touching, or very close, as they make their way to the condensor. If they are close or touching, they bend easily. Just move them apart. In time, they will chaffe thru. When my old 95 did this, it was a $500 repair.
For people wanting to know what the valve lash adjustments are. These are also on the ID Sticker, and are the same as they have always been. I'll get them and post em later, raining out now.

mymuar - my current truck is the same config as your new one. We are going to deal on that truck tomorrow for the wife. I will check this stuff out also.
I think that was good info.
