I pulled the one out of mine and could barely tell but the stacks may be drowning out the effect. When I got the truck back from out west, the intake horn was gone between the box to the fender and I had then install the 35/40 hybrid turbo and a K&N. Now, it sounds like the turbo is trying to cave in the dash when you hammer on it.

well i just removed mine took about 30 sec after i took tube off, one end of the keeper ring is tapered , just slip smal screwdriver in and push down simple, sounds just perfect for me, i do not understand why you could not tell unless its because yours is a 600 and mines a 555.

I pulled mine off. No difference, just a very faint whine. Nothing to speak of though. I see where it could gain anything the flow is still the same, just more turbulent with it off.

the guys who don't hear a difference have stock air boxes... the difference with my BHAF is night and day. it sounds like an 18 wheeler with it out, and you can't hardly hear it with it in. I've got 5" straight pipe, and the turbo is VERY audible even w/ the loud exhaust!!

the MWE compressor housings were originally designed not to use a silencer... they're designed to draw air from the sides of the compressor wheel. the silencer ring makes this difficult.

I'll leave mine the way Holset designed it to be run.

I can tell mine is gone big time , got that nice F - 16 sound now. Do the old freebie air box mod and you will really tell ...........sure does get the Ferd guys attention when I roll up !! Was looking at the turbo on my L-10 Cummins and they are pretty darn close !!
