Sick of all the problems!!!!!
As you see, I live in Florida and I am not sure how your state handles lemon law concerns. In Florida, buyers are given a pamphlet that outlines how the lemon law works. No need to hire an attorney.
Your issues, although a bit of a pain, don't seem to be major enough to constitute a lemon law buy back. Class action lawsuit??? Huh? I guess I am not on the same forum as you. There are thousands of owners and just a handful on this forum that are unhappy with their buying decision (my few anyway).
Except for your battery wiring, none of your concerns are creating an "out of service" repair. Go to the dealer where you bought it (hopefully you haven't burned any bridges) and sit down with the Service Manager. Set an appointment that is convenient for both of you. Have your list of issues and get a plan in place to get them resolved. If you have an extended warranty you have a loaner car option available to you. Document the repairs, time the truck was out of service. I think the dealers have three "trys" to correct the problem. Go through the issues systematically and have the dealer work on the most important/annoying issues first. Remain civil and I am willing to bet they can get the truck fixed.
now that last post was a pretty level headed approach at resolving the issue at hand. a convenient appointment, repair plan, systematic approach. good idea. sometimes it is hard to remain calm when paying $30,000+ on a vehicle that just drives you nuts because it is constantly having problems. good job jus cruisin. you and forane ought to hook up, maybe you can lend him an assist.

Yes the title is the truth.
Well Cry-slurrrr and cumins is never going to get my business any more with all the troubles that this 99 3500 4x4 5spd has given me. NOT A DAY HAVE I EVER ENJOYED THIS PIECE OF JUNK.$42,000.00 wasted.
The steering osocillating back and forth 10 o-clock to 2 o-clock. $5000.00 to fix a factory SNAFU. I do have the printout sheet from them for the wheel alignment machine done at my request at 32,000 km's They had two visits on this to try to fix this problem. Then again what did they do when the PDI IT??? MAYBE NOTHING.
An engine that bucks 1100 to 1275 rpm. Welding trucks that handly beat me out of an interction. The diesel teck said that 130 rwhp was about right out of the 235 hp engine. This was after I had the truck for one year. The engine rev's and screams but little power from it. A good story had it to one of the dollarshops to get the injectors replaced and they put in the 275's. I could just barely get ahead of 3/4 t Chev gas pot pulling a 22 ft 5th wheel from one interection to another.
It has been burning coolant since NEW at 22,000 km's the over flow tank was dry and the rad was very low. I even had to get the dye that from surrrray cumins because the dollarshop hadn't heard of it. It had been infrareded several times to see if the leak was external.
THANKS PRINCE GOUGE BC ...... ABSOLUTE JUNK. THATS ALRIGHT MMEEOOWWWWW.

Just dont buy being unlucky! My $40000 is just as valuable to me as the guy that gets great service from his truck. I should have bought a used truck with 150k miles on it. Same quality service as this new truck. why do you buy a new truck? For dependable trouble free service! All I have gotten are excuses from 3 dealers who either dont care about my problems or are incompetent to fix them. I know when I am being shot a line of **** where as most yuppies dont today. They believe anything the dealer tells them because they are the experts! Bull crap! Also, whoever said they will take parts off a new truck is living in a dream world! Never happen cause once they sell you a truck they couldnt care less about your satisfaction. There should be a class action lawsuit against DC for all this crap. There are enough complaints on here to do that!
Normally I wouldn't get into a discussion like this but think I have something relevent to the problem.
I have an 04.5 which at 25K lost a lift pump, no big thing other than I lost 3 days work waiting on parts. One month later I lost the injector pump (CP3) and again lost 4 days work waiting on parts. Less than 1 week later lost entire front of engine do to "Poor workmanship" from CP3 repair, fan was not torqued and lock-tited properly therefore I lost same and much other damage, of course we were in Flordia and had to survive 2 dealers pointing fingers at each other. Finally called my son (a Dodge sales manager in Michigan) who got his district manager to intervien and get Mi dealer to pay Fl dealer so work could be done without me paying for same (over $1500 at dealers cost). other minor problems also but nothing that incapacated truck till 7 months and 20K miles later. Lost #4 injector filling crankcase etc....4 days and ended up paying for an oil change as warranty only covered one per Dodge (had to do 1 change to diganose and one to deliver truck after repair, at least not 2 filters). and again stranded 1 month later stranded for 4 days in Ky with #6 injector same problem crankcase full etc and battle with dealer over repairs just having been done less than 1 month before and less than 1000k miles (He didn't let me out of the garage until he got approval from Dodge for the rapairs as I was from out of town amd he kept getting turned down as it was a duplicate repair, he didn't bother to notice that first injector was #4 second was #6 and didn't bother to clean up any of the caranage from 10 gallons of diesel and oil mix sprayed all over the truck from the injector as he didn't get paid to clean it up (and I asked poiltly (sp) and left with a smile and went directly to a quarter wash to finish it up after he let me out)). This cost me another motel night as I didn't get on the road till 7:30 pm after getting to the dealer at 3 as truck "Was Done".
#1 Why dosen't Dodge authorize changing all injectors per info from Cummis techs.
#2 Why dosen't Dodge try to find the cause rather than just replace the injector or parts.
#3 Why should we, the buyer of the vehicle, be responsable for repairs if 1 dealer screws up and we are many miles from the original dealer, shouldn't it still be warranty and they pay no matter what? (check your manual, it's not, it's your responsability to get it back to the original dealer).
#4 Why, if your vehicle is going to be down for over 24 hours dosen't Dodge give you a comparable loaner vehicle, especially if you need said vehicle for work purposes which is why you bought it in the first place, that and it is sure to be dependable as it is new...hehehe.... I pull a small utilkity trailer with tools and supplies, can't work without it.
As above I think Damiler Chrysler has forgotten where they came from (almost bankrupt) and has forgotten what a little thing called customer service is all about. Their customer care is almost a joke in trying to get anyone to help you.
Maybe thats why I now have a lemon law attorney trying to get me a replacement truck or a buy back plus some of my costs returned. it;s been 7 weeks and still no reply other than a request to the attroney for more paperwork, and guess what, gee whiz for some reason I have it all including some thay don''t show on record, like the Flordia repairs that were not on any records other than my copies.

the point of my post/problems with my truck, was that first of all i SHOULDN'T BE HAVING THESE PROBLEMS, secondly i shouldn't have to get down on all fours and beg for proper warranty service. I should be able to take it in once tell them the problem, them diagnose it and fix it, plain and simple. Instead they screw around, waste your time and money, and don't fix it right anyhow. Maybe i have just been getting screwed over by my dealership.
I am new to diesel, not new to Dodge.
I have to say this as it is my experience - I love my truck, I had the 1500 before I switched to the 2500 Cummins. The 1500 had 84,000mls on it when traded on the 2500, she was an '04.
The Cummins is even better, lots of power, the ability to improve that power relatively cheaply, and can just about pull a large tree stump out of the ground whithout any mod's.
You guys feel you have a rotten deal, you're not alone, read the other forums, many irate clients there who have spent alot of money on their "ideal" truck, work or play.
By removing yourself from those that can assist you in these matters is not going to help. Dealer - DC- Chrysler - who ever, the problems will not go away by themselves.
Get help, it does not benefit you to "burn" those that could help.
I am on the outside looking in, easy for me to say these things. I am in the construction field, no day is the same - always a problem, its like an adult day care.
Reach the person/s that can rectify your problem - go as high as you can.
These issues are not isolated to Dodge, they are machines, other manufacturers have the same issues.
GOOD LUCK!

Yeah!!! Go get'em. People just don't understand unless their in your shoes. We have to think outside the box. Not be one track minded, you know the type of people that say not one thing will go wrong with a Dodge. My Uncle In-Law was telling a die-hard dodge guy about all the problems I have had and the guy says " Are you sure he has a Dodge?"
This thread should be called the complain and moan thread. LOL!!!! I have had a few issues also. All it took was time, patience, and keeping a level head to get all of the issues resolved. If you go in their yelling and screaming or even with just an attitude you can expect that same attitude back. Just try to be happy go lucky and somehow things just seem to get fixed somewhat easier. I know it's hard especially if you have been on the side of the road. I can't stand to break down and be left stranded in the middle of nowhere. Hope it all works out for you fella's and you can enjoy your trucks.
Been there before, my friend. My only advice is to sue and then decide if the truck is worth keeping.

MARVIN ZINDLER, EYE WITNESS NEWS <==that's how big he talks. Closes every story with it.
Welcome, folks, to the world of the shareholder.
It is a sad day when a delivery company has to spend MILLIONS on an advertising campaign, stating that their strategic competency is customer service.
The mighty dollar rules. If you can make it faster and cheaper, run with it, you'll make your shareholders VERY happy. The shareholders don't really care about the normal "BETTER, faster, cheaper" adage.
I certainly agree with honda guy that after spending that kind of money, you should not be having those kind of problems...they should kow-tow to your every need. (Matter of fact, the first vehicel I paid >$25k, I asked if they came over once a week to detail it!) However, 99.x% of people do not have the major problems that have been brought up. That is why most equipment has a MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) rating. Crap happens. Face it.
Gone are the days of the handshake to seal the deal, "my word is good", insert cliche here. These days, you have to fight for what is yours. You still find good people here and there, but I'd have a better shot of Cindy Crawford calling me up for a date.
If you can't find the service you think you are entitled to, there are other dealers out there. Myself, I have 3 dealers, all about the same 10-12 miles away from the house. One of them, I wouldn't trust to change the oil in my weedwacker, the other 2 are decent. I walk in either place, tell them what I want/need, and wait for the BS. Once they are done, I tell them calmly what is REALLY going to happen, let them hem and haw for a bit, and reiterate my stance. When they figure out that I'm not your normal yuppie customer that takes their word on everything, they generally acquiesce, and life is good again.
I've been known to blow my top quite often (my wife WILL not go to a store with me anymore, since she is tired of having everyone in the store staring after I have my little hissy fit and walk out), but I give them 2 episodes of trying to feed me their line of BS, and then simply state my position again. After that, though, I will generally make a rather large scene. In all my years (about 15) of owning Dodges and Chryslers, and having moved and dealing with about 8 different dealerships, I have only had to lose it twice, out of maybe 30 times, and then I get what I want. (Of course, they probably don't like to PO the 5;10", 250+lb guy staring them down!)
Go in, grab the service manager by the left ear, drag him out to the waiting area, and give him an earful.
Seriously, as was stated earlier, make an appointment with the service manager, make sure you are well prepared (organized, etc.), and generally they will do their best to take care of your every need. They get some pretty decent money on warranty work.
Better yet, if you get a chance and it is convenient, stop by around lunchtime, and check out what the guys in the office are eating. Try to make your appointment for just before lunch, and bring lunch in for him (I don't mind spending <$10 after spending $40k!). I did that to the one service manager a few years ago, and till the day I moved, I simply called him up, told him what was going on, within 35 minutes of getting off the phone, he had the truck in the bay (the first 30 minutes was my drive up there...within 5 minutes of pulling in, he PERSONALLY was taking the truck back...of course, the grunts in the garage were doing the work, but...).
Think about it...they deal with PO'd people ALL day. Be it people with stuff that broke on a new vehicle (about as PO'd as you guys are), people in for service that they have to break the bad news to that it's going to cost $1500 to fix their 1982 Reliant that isn't worth the sheetmetal it is made of), etc. It's not that you are trying to be his friend, you are simply not going to give him a bunch of crap. Some people call it kissing his butt, I prefer to think of it as greasing the wheels.
But, if you choose to fly off the handle and be totally unreasonable, let me know how that works for you! So service managers are into the S&M thing.
I'm only making suggestions on what has worked for me.
And, if you choose to go to the dark side, just remember, the ones that don't make it as Dodge techs now bleed blue or wear bowties.
And, the salesfolks probably just jumped ship from another manufacturer's dealership. The guy I first talked to when I bought my 1500 off of 2 years ago used to wear a bowtie...the conversation was over after "Haven't seen you before." "Yeah, I used to work at Fox." "Oh...is there anyone else around?"

I had all TSB's done today and recalls, truck is working better than ever... All dealers aren't created equal, my dealer is great and works with me and understands how **** I am...
not saying anyone is a butt head, but you have to leave the angry for DC and not the dealer, the dealer didn't build the truck and have their hands tied for the way they approach fixing your truck...
After being a Dodge fan for 6 years and 3 cummins I am a happy camper, I hope all could be as happy as me.

First of all, things happen, and it seems to me that you got a lemon, and second, you SHOULD shop for dealers. If you don't find one that will fix your truck, then you need to find one that will. Its that simple. I guess Im lucky, I had a lift pump go out, and I had a new updated in tank pump in my truck in less than a day.

This is my third Dodge from the same dealer same salesman. I love the place I walk in and I feel like Norm on Cheers, everyone knows my name. I have dealt with the same service writer for years. Everyone there (except the old lady receptionist) is awesome and I don't hesitate to tell them when they are doing a good job or how I want a little extra this time. I came to Dodge from the Bowtie side and will never go back. Customer Service is what it's all about.
