shutter sound question...
HorseHauler;
I have a reg. cab and I do have a carrier bearing, but I am not 4X4. I have the launch shutter and it is getting worse. I have just been easing into it but I'm going to have to get something done. I believe it is the carrier bearing causing the problem. After cking the prices of parts to get it done, I am going to have a one piece drive shaft built. It is half the cost of just getting the u-joints and carrier bearing replaced. I am going to have it built next week. I'll post the results.

thanks, ill have to take a closer look. i just got back today from hauling some horses and i notice i deffinately happens more with the trailer on the back and while im taking a turn coming from a complete stop... this is whats making me think it might have something to do with the limited slip in the rear end.
Well, we can forget the one piece drive shaft. It would be 72" long and that is to long according to the drive shaft shop. I'm putting the truck in the shop Wed. for all u-joints and probablly the hanger bearing. I'm also going to put a clutch in it while it is down. I now have over 227,000 miles on it and it is getting hard to get it into first and reverse gears without a lot of pushing and grinding. Will put another 720 miles on it tomorrow, hope it stays together.
