Shutter?

When I take off, sometimes I feel a shutter. It does not really do it when i drive it straight, but I feel it when I turn. Keep in mind this is only when I am taking off, not after it is going? Could this be torque converter shutter?

Anyone have any ideas to what it could be? I would think if it was in the tranny, it would always do it when taking off, and not just some of the time. I was thinking it was the limited slip, but I dunno. I am a little confused, and do not want to throw money at it, like having the bands adjusted, which might be due anyway. I jsut hit 70,000, tranny warranty just went out .

I need to have this seen about or have an answer to it, because I am supposed to pull a luggage trailer to the TN mountains in two weeks for our youth trip.

Had this truck for three weeks, and it started it like a week after I bought it.

When I lifted mine it would do this and I took it back in and I think they shimmed something and it fixed it?

It's usually a driveline angle issue or worn U joints. Try shimming the carrier down about 1.5" and see if it helps. Check the U joints for play while your under there.

Maybe you might think about cleaning the truck out if your feeling shutters. Did some window work lately?

I think the term is shudder. Or have we changed the meaning here?

Here is a tsb for what you are describing for the 03 trucks with 2 piece driveshaft. They call it launch shudder. not sure if the short box has 2 piece shaft.

I have an 06 mega cab. When it was at stock height, I could feel a slight shudder when taking off. After I lifted it 6" the vibration was terrible. I ttok it to les schwab and the installed a carrier bering kit that smoothed everything out.

My '06 is stock height and stock tires and I can feel exactly what you are describing. I guess its time to take it in.
