chryslers response has been to talk out of both sides of their mouth - its inherent to the vehicle, but they have a prototype fix...

this is me off as the leas truck i had with this problem chewed thru 3 transmissions. i paid dearly for this truck.

anyways its going back to the dealer and we'll see again...

will keep u all posted.

Mind if I ask what this "prototype" thing was? I am just curious how the engineering genuises at DC are approaching this problem.

I too have gotten the "characteristic of the vehicle" speech. I really wish these guys would step up and deal with this problem.

I think you should try one of these, and report back as to how you like it.

I have a 2007 mega cab 2500, 5.9, 48re, 3.73s, limited slip

I seem to feel this shutter when excelerating from a stop with zero load under light throttle

I have not towed with it yet, but I did haul ~ 2000 lbs of people and rock and it seemed less apparent.

Any ideas?

I may just hook up to a trailer to check if it occurs with the trailer in tow also.

My Megacab does it also, but when I hook up the trailer it goes away. I have become used to it and don't even notice it anymore.

Maybe I'll be the guinnea pig and try that bearing from Inland Empire Driveline. I'll check them out next week.

What is the problem? Has/does anybody else have this problem?
Hi I think it has to do something with the transmission or converter pressure build up. I havea 2006 quad 4x4 with an automatic tran and it's doing the same right from the day one. Good luck.

No, it's the carrier bearing on LWB trucks...as was already said in this thread.

Talking

FWIW..... I picked up my new 07 3500HD QC 4x4 5.9 CTD Auto 8' Box SRW Laramie a few weeks ago. When I test drove it w/ 4 miles on it I felt that slight shutter when taking off..... I turned around, went back and had the service manager drive it. He said its normal for these HD trucks and has to do w/ the drive line angle. He said when there is some weight on the rear it will go away, so I took his word for it, and really didnt mind because it was so slight..

I did go underneath to have a look at the hanger bearing, I was surprised that it had some movement, it must be a bearing encased in a rubber bushing. My 04 PSD Superduty 250 was solid, you coulnt move it, it also had more of a clunk then a shutter, and Ford said its normal, when I towed or loaded it, it went away.

Today I was bored and decided to hook up my 7000lb (GTW) dual axle enclosed 8x16 Carmate trailer and see how the truck does, there isnt alot of weight in the trailer now and nothing in the bed until I load it up to go ATVing and or Hunting, so I am not exactly sure what the tongue weight is, but It was kinda light, the rear hardly went down at all. I coulnt get it to do the shutter at all, or at least I didnt feel it.

The dealership replaced the entire driveshaft assembly in an attempt to fix my problem, and it actually made it worse. I am fairly confident that simply replacing u-joints in my case will not solve the problem.

I don't think we have the exact same cause to a similar problem.
Late reply but thanks for the response I am going to try the U-joints like pourindiesel suggested and I might get a center bearing right away and replace it all.

But no sorry if I was misleading my problem isnt getting worse been the same now for quite awhile (294k on the clock so far ) its just dont wan to rip apart anything and I for sure want to get it done before winter since thats when it seems to get even worse.

My problem isnt during decel what so ever and not really accelerating after rolling either mine is from a dead stop and trying to GET moving and it seems to be MUCH worse in reverse and also I do not have the problem unloaded mine is really only when loading (possibly noticed slightly when unloading taking off faster) but its really just when loaded and well its more so loaded heavy (53' car hauler and 3 cars on) it doesnt even really seem to do it MUCH when I have JUST the trailer on its mainly with trailer and trailer loaded up and reading your post about the ladder bars made sense.

I am still going to do the ujoints cause might as well havent done them ever and theres a FEW miles on em
