Shredded Belt
I would think the dealer could disable the "auto lock" feature. They do it with a scanner type tool and turn that feature off.

Belt chirping on shutdown is NORMAL for all diesel, because of the engine's high compression. It is caused by the engine stopping before the accessories, hence the belt slips and strains slightly on the pulleys.
It seems that on some of the 04s and 05s, there were either sub-standard belts used and/or some may have been installed incorrectly, and/or these engines stress these belts even more than is normal on shutdown.
For WHATEVER the reason, the clutched pulley eliminates slippage of the belt on shutdown, eliminating the chirp, and reduces stress on the belt, which cold help it live longer.
