shifting down hard

I have 05 2500 diesel with the 48re automatic and sometimes when I come to a stop it shifts into 1st hard, thought it was the bands but I had it serviced aand bands adjusted and now it seems worse. Had other shifting issues before winter and it was the ttva and I replaced and about 2 month ago started with this issue now so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Does it downshift as you're coming to a stop? In some cases the bore the TTVA shaft goes in gets worn and it starts to stick. You can get a kit that bores it out and put in a bushing. Sonnax makes a kit for this. I just went with a new valve body from Goerend. Love it.

The VB mod is really the way to go with the 48RE tranny. I'm ordering one for my '06, along with some other items, for a planned upgrade on the internals for later this fall (hopefully).
