Shift Points for a GF56
Shift Points for a GF56
Hello all. I've heard (and been told) many things about how I should be driving my CTD (this is my first). I normally shift at 1500 until the engine is warmed fully, then shift around 2000 after that.
I'm not shy about getting on it when I need to, but in normal driving that's what I do.
Opinions? What do others do?

Pretty much how I drive mine. 1600-1700rpm when first start driving but then 1900-2100rpm after a few miles of warm up time. Then the ever-so-often 2600-2800rpm shift!!! Just to let people know I am bigger and faster than they are.
same here 1500 till she warms up then 1900-2200 ,and the times to show off 2500-3000 just to feel myself pulled into the seat
,some times even start out in 1st just to go through all 6 gears,Life is good with a Cummins...
