To Sell 600 or Not???
It has nearly 8k on it right now.
I am thinking sell it, and buy a 555 or a 6.0 ferd (I hope it don’t come down to that)
Any idea what is in store for 2005 or 2006?
I might just wait till then if there is supposed to be something worth waiting on.

Just heard today from a friend who's brother had a 03 F**D dually...traded it in at a loss because of all the problems and shop time & got a new 04 F**d dually.
Now his family is just getting ready for the summer vacation with their 32' 5th wheel and guess what? Yep, the new F**d is back in the shop with more problems.....boy is he ******!
You might want to wait a little longer before you jump into a new F**d...... They gonna get it right sooner or later, maybe .
Me? I'm just a happy camper with my Cummins.... even if I never get better than my current 15 mpg empty! (I'm running a 600 dually, 4:10 & auto...with only 1,500 miles so far)
Good Luck with whatever you decide!

It's gonna take a BIG improvement in mileage to make up for the depreciation hit you'll take if you sell it now.
Exactly my thoughts. You have the BEST truck on the market; stick with it.
I decided to keep it, for now.....
I got a pm stating that there is a new reflash coming out for the 600 within a month or so.
I am pretty sure the ford is out of the question.
I had a 99 Dodge/Cummins and loved it.
Then it was time to buy a work truck...... got a 2001 F-350 7.3 PSD=POS ford
I did it due to the discount that Mustang/Cat employees get.
BIG mistake!!! Six torque converters, froze up engine pulleys, three injectors, six bent wheels (my fault), A/C cuts in and out while going down the freeway, two starters, plenty electrical problems, two headlight switches, plenty of warped rotors,
And 135,000 miles later I sold it to the company.

I don't understand how some people are getting such crappy mileage. It makes no sense to me, maybe I just got lucky with my 600? I average about 19 on the freeway, and 15-16 in the city.. going up the mountain to my house, the mileage lowers to around 12 or so, but I keep my foot in it pretty heavy.

Me and a buddy took a road trip in his 04, and got about 12-14 empty and towing. At that time he had 6 or 7K on it. Just the other day his started getting like 19 empty, I thing it broke loose at about 9k miles. So hold on to your shirts for a few more miles. Plus I think if you tow a little with your trucks it will help break them in a little better.
Hi there.
I did everything I could to improve milage, new filters, oil, etc, drive mostly out of town at 118km/hr ~73mph on cruise on flatt praires, so my foot is out of equasion, still get 13.7 mpg max with about 800lb topper box, my old 2001 was getting ~16-20 mpg with the same set up.
I work with my dealer on the issue unfortunately without any positive results and DC head an answer to dealer service department in regards to fuel consuption by my truck it went like that, I complained about terrible city only milage in the neighberhood of 24 l/100km ~ 9.8 mpg, their answer was "THAT IS NORMAL FUEL CONSUMPTION FOR THIS TRUCK" and I have it in writing on the work order from the dealer, it would be all O.K. if they would informed me about it before they took my money, that would be fair.
Regards Jack.
