I get a screeching noise coming from the front when the fan kicks on. Not at low speeds, but when it really starts blowing. Funny thing is that originally it only lasted about 4 seconds, then stopped (fan still going) Lately though it seems to last longer but still goes away as the fan speed changes. I have changed the fan belt recently, alternator, and idler pulley. I am thinking fan clutch/bearing?? I hate to rip into it and spend the money if that isn't the problem.

 

my 2005 only makes noise when i shut the engine down.
I have a gates gatterback belt.

but, your problem may be a bearing as my truck does not make noise as it's running..
