Safety Recall H46

I just recieved a safety recall H46 for a Mopar steering linkage on my 05. Has anyone had this done and what is involved? I have a DSS installed on my truck so what are the odds a dealer will give me crap about that if I take it in for this recall?

When I took mine to the dealer, they looked under it and said it had the original linkage that had not been upgraded. It sounded to me like the problem was not from an original part, but something done to the truck after it left the factory. At any rate it only took a few minutes for them to determine no problem existed. They then offered to fix another recall that would turn on the little dinger bell when the truck is in reverse and the door is open. I said I didn't see any problem, and just leave it as it was. I'm sure glad I did, as I hear a lot of owners complaining after they had it done. YMMV

I had a steering linkage recall on my 07. The guy walked outside looked underneath my truck and said "you're good." I asked what it was about and he said that some trucks had the linkages installed improperly and they recalled em all to make sure they were safe. Mine was installed correctly apparently. Took me longer to type this than him to tell me I was good to go. Its a safety issue anyway so they will have to fix it regardless of your mods.

the h46 recall is ONLY for the upgraded steering. since the upgraded steering fits 03-current trucks, they did not know who went to the parts counter and purchased it. if you have never installed the upgraded steering, the recall does not apply
