Rough Idle, Stalling

Rough Idle, Stalling
Well, I've given up my search for a solution. My truck (03 HO, 6spd, 4x4, 390k miles) has had an intermittent, bouncy idle where it would fall down to about 400 RPM's, then recover up to 1500 RPM's, 750 for a few seconds, then fall back down. Occasionally it will die alltogether, sometimes even between shifts. Along with this, sometimes together, sometimes separate, when I let the clutch out without over revving it, it will fall on it's face and almost die, but then it recovers and takes off just fine. What's strange about this is one day it will run fine, the next it will die between shifts, and everything in between.
The options that I'm aware of right now include the FCA, A/C wire shorting (did initial inspection and didn't show any signs), or possibly injectors going (replaced with OEM at 250k). None of these seem to fit my symptoms dead on, so I'd hate to start throwing money at it without having a better direction.
I'm running a Bully Dog, and the key trick only shows the P0234 code.
Any ideas?

Your code shows to be an overboost condition, yet all symptoms lead to a bad FCA.....I know first hand. My '03 did the same thing, it would run perfect once off idle, great power and would pull a house down. Once back to idle it would drop to super low rpm's then race up on it's own (like almost 2k rpm's) and then repeat the process. Only problem was, it never threw a code and it would only do it every now and then. Those FCA's are a hair over a hundred bucks and with your mileage, that's pocket change for the aggravation it causes. Contact your local Cummins dealer for one or visit www.genosgarage.com for one.

Sorry to hear that you stripped one out. I have found using a 1/4" drive ratchet and a extension on the end is the best way to do it. Hope you get it out. Good luck man you can do it.

That is exactly what I had. I have both a Lysle and a Craftsman bit. Guess what, the "Crap-sman" twisted the bit then stripped the bolt.
Just picked up 2 different kinds of extractors. We'll see how that works.
