Replacement Pumps vs AD150/FASS
Replacement Pumps vs AD150/FASS
Compared to the full blow AD150 kit, what is the install like on the frame mounted pump kits, like the ones available for Glacier, BD, AD's Raptor, etc.....
From BD's website, the install looks to be cake, compared to the full AD150 kit. No need to drop the tank or pull the bed, and then not draw straw or 1/4 tank issues.........
http://www.dieselperformance.com/ind...uct/index/175P
BD’s Flow-MaX lift has enough fuel flow for more than 600 horsepower, and is rated for 150 gallons per hour (GPH) at 10 psi pounds per square inch, and up to 165 GPH at full flow.
Air Dog's Raptor is a 150 GPH gerotor pump capable of pressures up to 50 psi and have fuel pressure regulator with a range of 5 to 50 psi.
SO, what are the pros and cons of going with an aftermarket pump, compared to going with a FASS or Air Dog setup?...........other than fuel aeration, is this really anything?

It's funny Air Dog does no recommend trying to draw from the canister with their 150 yet BD has you cutting into the small factory fuel lines for their pump.
I think you'd be better off running the Raptor 100 (which comes with ½" hose) plumbed the the factory canister, you'd have lotsa fuel and not have a problem unless you're going to get twins one day (but the way you're going on that truck I'm guessing that's a possibility?) You don't get the extra filtration the AD's or Fass pumps have though.
The new AD's will be a simpler install but you'll still need to do something to enlarge the feed to the pump and I don't know what AD will be recommending for that. From what I hear you won't have to plumb the AD return to the canister (if that's where you're drawing from).
