Reflash 2003 ecm from SO to HO

Does anyone know if this is possible or do the two trucks have two separate or different ecm's? i know they share the same stock injectors and there are some internal differences in the engine but is this possible?

Your signature shows that you have a Smarty Jr.
If you do have a Smarty Jr loaded on your truck, you have already bumped up the power level from the 250HP SO to the 305 HP HO plus the additional Smarty power gains.

My thought was if I were able to start with the base HP of the HO I would yield a greater overall HP gain. I didn't know if anyone had tried it or not. With no warranty issues to consider anymore it was just a thought.

I haven't reflashed Dodge ECMs for many years, but at that time, the equipment would only allow any given module to be updated with the proper software file for that particular calibration, and I can't see that being any different today. So no, you would only be able to update your SO ECM with software designed for that SO ECM.

The Smarty upgrades the power level on the SO and HO to the same level. It has been that way since it was put on the market. So on an SO engine, you go straight to the modified HO power levels. Make sense?
