I have heard

synthetics in the diffs and t case will help extend the life of those parts Its probly just had one or two oil changes in it as well. Id say go with fleetgard or baldwin filters all around, and use a good diesel oil. I use rotella 15W-40 with soot control year round. Just dont go skimpy on maintainance. I also use Stanadyne fuel additive and lubricity formula at least once a month in the tank to help keep her runnin well. Again i say Welcome to DTR fellow texan!! save urself some time and set this as ur homepage...

PS actually T case in mine uses just ATF.. i change every third oil change on that one... or just before deer season..

I usually go 5 K between oil changes, and filter is a pain in the **** for me, so i try and go 10-15K before changin that..
