Rear end popping while backing up incline
Rear end popping while backing up incline
while backing up my driveway my front tires get cought on the lip of the sidewalk, so I have to give it a little more gas to get the front tires over the lip, when I do that I keep getting a popping noise out of the rear end. Could this be the anti slip locking in? Any comments?

Take the service mgr for a ride and demonstrate the noise for him. Sounds like you've already determined how to make the noise. Could it be something loose in the suspension instead of the pinion?

I have the exact same problem, but I can't get it to make the noise whenever I want, it only happens randomly when I give it a lot of gas backing up. I've already tightened all the rear suspension bolts excepts for the upper shocks mounts. It's definately not coming from inside the diffo.
