rear end
#3
I think most people on here will agree its is way to often but still do it as long as the warranty is still in affect. I drained mine at 17,000 and the oil looked new with no sludge in the bottom.
On a different note, I went to the dealer asking the amount of oil for my rear end. The parts guy proceeded in telling me I had a DANA axle and that I needed the lmilted slip additive. I tried educating hime since the AAM axles have been in service on the new trucks for over 2 years now. He refused to belive me. Even the repair manager didn't know. He did pull the book out though and I showed it to him in black and white. At least he accepted the facts with a little humility. Never take the dealers word on your truck as fact. Most of them seem to be clueless about they products they are supposed to be experts on.
