Ok thanks, that's what I thought by reading Amsoil specs but I've read others adding an additive for the anti-slip, so I decide to ask, just in case.

You might want to check with AAM. I spoke with a representative who spoke with the engineer that designed the axle mine was an 11.5 , he said if it was limited slip you didnt need an additive and that you could only run 75-90 wt synthetic. The reason I called them Is a friend of mine had his rear axle go out on his 03 and come to find out the dealership changed the rear axle oil and put the wrong oil in it and it went out after 2000 miles on the change. the dealership replaced the entire axle for him free of charge. It might be worth a phone call to them I believe their website is www.AAM.comI had my gears changed out and the shop that did it put 75-140 synthetic back in the shop manual I had on the truck said 75-90. and that was the reason I called .I changed mine to 75-90 amsoil severe gear I havent had a problem for about 10,000 miles

Many trucks on these sites have the 75w140 in them. Its not called for but many use it and use it for heavy towing will no reports of any damage.I use the 75w90 but "may' change to the 140 at some time.Same with anti chatter additive. It supposely offers no benifit to the AAM axel but numerous shutter complaints and having to ad anti chatter additive to correct this is proved that wrong.I had shutter on left turns as have many with the AAM 11.5 true lok differantial and a generic additive from Auto Zone fixed it in less then 5 miles.Use the SEARCH function and there ought to be lots of reading on the subject. As the AMSOIL site says " May need to use anti chatter additive in some cases'
