Im need to replace this axle seal, and am going to do it this weekend. Anyone every done it, and can give me a few tips on how to get it done? Anything thing you saw that you didnt expect or anything you would have done to make it easier? Thanks in advance.

The rear is simple - easy access - the front is a littlte trickier to get the cover off simply becuase some of the steering is in the way.

I am ordering it tomorrow from the dealer. Its $49, dont know if this is expensive compared to the one yall got form NAPA, but it needs to be done, my pads are 90w soaked and after a good drive i can smell the oil burning from the rotor heat. So, I guess im paying 50 bucks plus some 90w. Oh well.

I did mine and just used RTV sealant. CLeaned the old rubber crush gasket and reused it with the RTV. No problems after 5,000 miles.

So is it an actual seal or a gasket that is leaking? I havent dug into it yet, and I assumed it was a seal. Maybe I could get by with the RTV as well.

Just take the old seal into a auto parts store. I replaced mine years ago, but did not have a problem getting it from O'Rilies (I think).
Get lots of rags, it's kinda messy, but easy to do. There is nothing holding the axle in except the 4 bolts on the outside. No need to remove the differential housing. Tip the side you are working on up to drain the oil into the diff. housing or it will drive you crazy dripping all over. Get a oil pan ready.
