Rattle/odd noise at 1100 to 1400 rpm...

This just appeared, it's extremely prevalent from 1100 - 1400 rpm. It sounds like a ratchet spinning REALLY fast....or the way a faucet sounds when you just barley turn it on. Much louder when coasting before the tranny disengages. No rough idle but the little lady says, "it sounds a bit throatier".

Any thoughts?

One thought..... have you had any tranny work done ? I see it's on the wish list. This sound like the same thing myself and several others have had when the flex plate bolts come loose. I had several floating around in the housing and the others left in wallowed the threads in the crank so bad, they had to be tapped.

If you do have a built trans, open the inspection plate and see if you have a bolt flying around. Try to wiggle the plate and see if it has play. If so, you have to pull it and tighten all the bolts!.

I may be completely off but, it's worth a look into..

I'm pretty sure that's not the problem ( although, I did explore the idea).

I've been listening much more, and it seems the sound is more than just 1100 to 1400. It's just muffled by the engine noise at higher RPM.
