Rail Pressure Sensor Performance CEL

About 2 months ago I was driving my truck when I got the rail pressure sensor performance check engine light. I ran fine so I just cleared the code. Today I was driving it when the engine shut off after driving for about 30 min. The truck did not throw a code but I hooked my smarty to it anyway and found the RP sensor performance code. After several cranks the engine finally started but the engine would barely idle. I drained some fuel on the air dog water separator and it seemed to help. I drove it 15 min home and it ran fine and even idled normal for about 5 min then the rough idle came back. Anybody have any suggestions? I put some diesel kleen in the tank and let it idle for a while but the engine eventually died and I quit messing with it. Thanks for any suggestions.

Sensor itself is faulty.

After reading up on it I'm leaning more toward the FCA being the problem. Obviously the RP sensor is having problems too, but I wouldn't think a RP sensor would make the engine have a rough idle but I could be wrong. Tomorrow I am going to change the fuel filters. Thanks for the reply
