Angry Radiator took a dump....

Well ....as we were getting ready to take a trip up to our property in Gainesville , I notice I`m missing one of the caps on the trailer , (loaded up with our Trans Mule , daughters new 4 wheeler , and all our gear) so I move the truck out of the way , as it`s already hooked up and ready to go , and notice a HUGE puddle of fluid where the truck was just sitting

Needless to say , it`s the radiator , and no one is open on Christmas day ,or today, so I guess we`re staying home this weekend

Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with the cooling system , or is this truck just bad luck for me

We were planning on leaving after Christams dinner @ my moms (around7PM) , and it`s a good 3 hr. trip , so I guess I`m LUCKY I moved the truck when I did , and noticed the leak BEFORE we hit the road at night
as this would have been the 3RD time we would have been broke down in this truck , either on our way to , coming home from , or at Gainesville...and man , would the wife had been pissed....she`s already no TOO happy.

Sure it's the radiator and not the crappy clamp on one of the hoses?

The radiator seems to be pretty reliable on these trucks.

The header line in your thread says its the rad , but then nothing in your description tells where the leak is from .
If your lucky , maybe the overflow tank was full , were you parked on a angle , tilt , hill - then coolant came out of overflow .
Use a pressure tester and see where the coolant is coming out .
Is the rad cap on tight ?
Any work on the truck recently , maybe a lose hose clamp ?

Have you checked the water pump? They can spray anti-freeze all around the passenger side front of the engine when they start leaking. It is a very easy repair if you can get the pump.

Question

It`s leaking from the middle part of the radiator.....maybe it`s the water pump , but it`s definately running off of the radiator.

Exclamation

Well...it was the radiator , had a hole in it.

It must have been a fluke thing if no one else has had an issue. Glad it happened when it did , and not on the way
