quick question about the 4 speed auto

just bought my 06 mega cab 413 miles on it and i have been looking around on here about how the autos hold up. I am guessing they do alright i am used to a 6 six speed but the auto is nice. My question to you is what all do i need to do to keep this auto running alright, when to change fluid right way to do that how many quarts. Just the basic things to know guys. thanks alot

also heard about if getting slipping and you do change your fluid you should plan to change in about another 500 miles to get the dirt and other things out of the tranny. True???

Manual says to change fluid and filter at 30K...also adjust the bands.

If you are concerned about metal particles in the oil, put a magnet on the oil pan.

I would not bother changing the oil, unless it does not look pink/red.

I plan on doing trans maintenance at 30k....

If the trans fails after the 36k mile warranty, I'll just have a bullett proof trans installed and get 150k or so out of it!

For pretty much everything...stay with the factory service intervals in the back of the manual!

i have over 100,000 km on mine now and never a problem, regular maintenance is easier at the dealer, they can dispose of the waste and log that the work has been done for future issues.
