Sounds like some pretty positive feedback for the Dodge/Cummins combo. I like the fact that the engineers REALLY thought about this one in terms of emissions as well. The only brand not to add EGR to their system, and STILL be able to meet 50 state emissions is Dodge/Cummins. While some may not find that impressive, I DO.

I noticed on the last page that dodge has passed gm into 2nd place for diesel market share.Nice accomplishment.

Agreed. More power with FEWER emissions is a remarkable achievement. Most importantly, the engine maintains its simplicity (no EGR, particulate traps, etc).

This emissions reduction is the main reason that the oil change interval goes up to 15K.

the oil change interval changed to 15K in 2003 -- not part of the 04.5 claim to fame. I didn't realize the injectors changed in 04.5. Can anyone confirm?

Well, I was right and I was wrong. The reduced emissions from the HPCR are the reason for the longer oil intervals. It's not unique to the 600 improvements.
