Anybody know what micron the purolator F55360 fuel filter is? Ive been running them for over 240k miles. I change it every time i change my oil, about every 7 to 10k miles. I hear alot of talk about the fleetguard filters and can find specs on them but not the purolator filters.

 

I am not positive but I want to say 10 mic.

 

Per an email I received from Purolator its an 18um filter. By far the worst possible filter I have found you can put in your OE canister.

They are aware its nowhere near OE spec, and are working a new filter that will be 5um.

Holy Bajesus, I thought that was the 10min? Is that the Fram or Wix filters then?

 

Wix has a 7um nominal, 8um absolute and a 10um nominal.. Neither meets OE spec.

The only filters I have found to meet OE spec are

OE (Fleetguard/Mopar/Dodge) 7um absolute
Donaldson P550800 7um absolute
Baldwin PF7977 (Hastings FF1260) 5um absolute
