My 98 had a 5 speed and i broke 5 gear pulling up hill.I did not have enough rpms, about 1300.I found out later you better not go under 1600 in 5th.So i have an 03 with a 6 speed, anyone know about pulling in 6 gear?

Re:pulling with 6 speed????

Not only was that hard on your five speed but you were lugging the engine too. I don't think the six speed has the issue with the nut but it is still wise to keep your engine RPM in the torque band of 1400 rpm at the bottom. Personally, I keep mine over 1500 at all times. Enjoy your new truck.

Casey

Re:pulling with 6 speed????

mine seems to run at it's best at 1800-2200. Seems to pull best and get best mileage right there in the middle. ;D
