5 speed 3rd gen gearing tire height pulling season 2009

i am searching for the right tire height for my 3rd gen for pulling season this up coming year but i have 1 problem

my 3rd gen is an SO so its a 5 SPEED with 3.73 gears

so far at the end of pulling season i had to run 2nd high and that put a lot of stress on my clutch. I am trying to get the TNT-R but i have no luck in getting that tune so

i have 3.73 gears in my truck does any body know how or came across this same problem in there 3rd gen 5 speed truck. i think i am the only one pulling a 5 speed 3rd gen

if i run 3rd low i hit off the rev limiter all the way down the track
and when i run 2nd high it runs right under 3500 but that putting tons of stress on the drive train not using low range

What size tires are you running? What turbo? 2nd high with 3.73's ought to be pretty competitive.

Why not try a tire a little smaller and see if you can get away with the hero gear (4th low) How many pulls you plan on going to? It might be kinda hard on clutches but 2nd hi is very stressful on parts expecially shafts. You should be all right with 2nd high for awhile before something lets loose. I am guessing you have the upgraded input shaft? If not that will be the first thing that will let loose in the nv4500. With 3rd gear your right you won't be very competive you need more speed.
