Problem

I was just in NY at the girl friends , did a 100 miles ride down to my house then went to my shop ... it was raining out the truck ran great til I go to the shop .
Truck was making a weird sound when I was pulling in like you threw the truck into park before you stopped .
Also the RPM jump to like 2k like you were doing a neutral drop ... then the horn was honking with the flashers like you were setting the door locks .
No codes , I went to just take it up and down the road a few minutes after and it was fine .
Any clue ?

Thanks

greg

which truck we talking bout. signature shows a 96. you running a 3rd Gen too? 3rd Gens had the flash for the park not enganging and it honking the horn when the door was open because it was still in reverse and not park. possibly hit the shifter and it went into reverse or park and doing a pawl check?

bad cam sensor would throw a code, bad ground could be but would be more consistant with other accessories not functioning right. I did a security system on a ford a few years ago, forgot to re-attach a ground on the firewall and when I started the truck, wipers were waving at full speed, washer pump was spraying, turn signals were going nutty etc. shut the truck off and knew just what I had done. wasn't tight enough but sure did freak me out with all the stuff going off. reminded me of maximum overdrive movie where everything mechanical came to life! LOL

Just looked has a little corrosion on the terminals , going to clean and tighten and go from there .

Just checked it out ... I tightened up the and cleaned the terminals and drove it around lunch time and seemed to be fine ...

Since it is a 2005 it also may be time for preventive battery replacement ?

I did load test and I do have one that the meter is indicating low .

Just bought a pair of the Diehard Platinum for my 2nd gen and there some pretty good batteries .

Thanks guys
